Hey guy's i have error 1402 i opened run entered regedit and tells me that adm has no access to

its error 1402. could not open key. HKEY/LOCAL/MACHINE/software/symantec/Nor... it tells me Verify that you have sufficient acces to that key, or contact your support personnel.

I tried regedit and regedit32 regedit32.exe regedit.exe

it teells me that the administrator has disabled the modification or the registry,,,,, and i am the administrator ....................... i have windows ue v6 HELP PLEASE CAN'T INSTALL NORTON ANTIVIRUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Manfred, Try going into safe mode to edit the registry.

Do this by starting the computer and tapping the field key F8 as it boots. It brings you to a menu asking what to do. tell it safe mode no networking support... Use the Administrator account and then regedit...
