I have trojan virus malware?

okay so i downloaded mcafee and adware2007. for adware2007 whenever i start to scan after a few secs my labtop gets the blue message the fills the whole screen saying that i have to shut down, restart or whatever. i tried running adware scan several times and everytime my labtop gets the message and i have to shut the down the comp and restart again. i thought mcafee would clean out this trojan but apparently theres still something wrong with my labtop. this is my first time with any kind of virus or malware so what do i need to do to get this thing out COMPLETELY. (fyi- i can't find any of my cd's so no new installation, and im not buying any antivirus software)
