Ok whenever I turn on my computer, where the icons at the lower right are a balloon(you know what I'm talking about right?) pops up and says corrupted file. I run a scan and it shows no viruses. My computer cannot play music or videos for long. It freezes up and I have to turn it off. What would be the best thing to do? Any better free antivirus software out there?

Please keep AVG Free it is good for detecting viruses, but because it's the free version it won't detect alot of spyware, so just go to Google and type in Spybot Search and Destroy, this is also free and will detect alot of the harmful spyware that is out there.
The cause of Pop ups are largely a product acquiring cookies and spyware when traveling from websites. The pop-ups are designed to fool you to clicking one of the buttons. I would first try to run an anti spyware program like Ad-Aware 2007 from download.com Also clean your cookies from your browser
IF u take my option AVG FREE is the worst anti virus i ever seen... Try using Nortan 2007 instead or Avira
