Please look at this error, give a solution, please!!!!!!!?

when i click on any .exe iconm it says,

"This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the folder options control panel".

i cant run system restore(anyway i dont have any active restore points) and i cant install from XP CD, setup.exe doesnt run. i've tried all i can in folder options. please help.....

this has been coming since some cmd prompt program executed itself when i was online.

i've run anti spyware, antivirus and registry cleaning software. please help.

dont say that you have to reformat the HDD.

Once you have repaired your pc get a software firewall installed to avoid these sort of attacks.

Definetly you may be having virus. First you need to disinfect it.

You may not be able to run any antivirus s/w if .exe is not running, hence, detach your HDD from yoru system and attach it as slave in another system with proper antivirus software (latest patch updated) installed. [I suggest Norton]
