i've allready done defragment, removed all unnescesary software, done antivirus scan etc. i'm even considering to perform system recovery with installation discs (to original conditions like when purchased). my c: drive is 75% full while my D: drive is empty. should i try shifting data to D: before i recover? pc is very slow when starting up - takes about 5 minutes before i can use pc after switching it on and sound is crackling and very slow. any advice plz
Are you supposed to store all data on your pc on the d: drive rather than the c: drive? my pc is quite slow?computer
the drive might have bad sectors. yes thats one factor affecting the start up speed. you can transfer your data or documents to drive d: (I suppose youre drive is partisioned) but dont move anything from system files (C:\WINDOWS or C:\program files.
also you can try this :
go to start %26gt;run%26gt; type msconfig %26gt; press enter %26gt; go to start up tab %26gt; unchecked all the programs %26gt; apply then restart.

Personally, I would, yes. I'd also copy my vital files to some form of external storage, be it a flash pen, external drive or whatever, just in case your machine throws in the towel altogether! By vital, I mean those you couldn't recreate if necessary, such as pictures, documents an so on.
u shoul install games and other software to other partition rather than os drive . it's best cuz system check small files system if u store other programs in it will take long to check it .
to save your files move all your important files to d drive, as the c drive will be formatted. also look at the size of the c drive as you may get confused which drive you want to format during reinstallation.
:D
