I uninstalled CA antivirus which was the only part of Authentium software. There is nothing in my install/uninstall programs related to Authentium I can find, but Verizon will not allow me to install Norton. I keep getting the message to uninstall Authentium, but it's not listed. Help
It has to be listed just under a unassuming name , read through each entry very carefully and Google any that your not sure of before deleting anything.

PS- Why would you change from CA to Norton? Norton uses 10 times as much space and will slow your system down.
I know its there , sometimes windows also has some programs listed at the veru=y bottom of the page way after you think you have already seen everything so just scroll all the way down. Report It
You can try doing a regedit and delete any reference to Authentium and then reboot. BTW.......Bill is right, CA is much better than Norton.
REMOVE PROGRAMS
you should alwas look in your all programs list for the program's uninstall file,failing that:
XP HOME:
start--all programs--add\remove programs--click change\remove
start--my computer--local disk drive (c)--windows--programs

Dear frnd it seems that ur compu is full of Trojans and viruses. So getting rid of them i s the only feasible and long term solution that u must go for
In my opinion,
Restart ur computer in the safe mode(Press F5 repeatedly when it restarts, it will take to to the option for the safe mode)
Then scan ur computer for
1. Viruses (I suggest Norton AntiVirus updated version)
2. Spywares (I suggest Lavasoft's Adware updated version)

I have Nod32 and someone told me about Windows Live OneCare which is Antivirus-Firewall and Antispyware.Is it a good software?Did you try it?Can i have Nod32 and Windows Live OneCare together?
Don't search and download good software by yourself. You could only harm your computer. I've downloaded loads of good software and it messed everything up. Internet connection was slow, windows couldn't log on right. Do you want that?
Better take a good technician and consult the best sofware coz they're the only ones that speak pc language.
Hi. I used to have installed Norton antivirus in my laptop and that was the software my msn messenger was using to analyze received files. I unistalled norton and changed to AVG but I cannot get my received files searched for viruses. Does anybody know how to do so?
go to tools-otpion-file transfer and select scan for viruses using..this is based on the anti virus you have.

go to tool tab%26gt;options%26gt;at file transfer tab%26gt;check scan for virus%26gt;then browse for the antivirus program that u want to use
then click apply

Okay so I was searching for something on Google, and I accidently clicked this link and it was really weird because the page didn't really say anything so I went back really fast and this pop up comes up for an antispyware software called IE Anitivirus. I was really confused because I didn't download it, so I removed it from my programs, but now everytime I go on the internet a message comes up every 5 seconds that says "Your computer is infected with a dangerous virus. An anitispyware software is recommended. Click Ok to dowload the antivirus" and when I search for something on google a message comes up in the middle of the links that says "Your computer was infected by a dangerous virus. Some results was changed by porn advertising, your passwords are no more safe." I'm really confused because I didn't look up porn or anything. I've scanned and removed viruses in my computer with EMSI software, avast! software and Spypot Search %26 Destroy. The message is still coming up. I need help!

Almost all "general purpose","all-in one" spyware and virus removal programs such as AVG, Norton, McAfee or Spybot S %26 D cannot remove it, as you have already found out.
I have:
- Direct Internet connection (DSL cable modem) and no router.
- Comodo Firewall
- Node32 Antivirus
- WinPatrole PLUS

Hardware firewalls are always better than software ones. I recommend getting a router.
A modem connection is much safer than that of a router. With what you have, I think you're pretty much well safe.
Just remember, in networks there is no such thing as a secure networking.
You have sufficient software protection, the only other thing to do is make sure file and printer sharing is turned off in the network settings. If you want to really get parpnoid, encrypt all files with a strong password.
Since you don't have a router, you don't have a wireless signal floating around for people to use. Cable is probably the most secure source of internet, and you have decent security software. So your home network should be secure.
Not familiar with the last one, and last time I checked, Comodo firewall was still beta.
All that notwithstanding, your protection is only as good as your configuration of any tools you have.
Not only that , but it is critically important that you are up to date on all software versions you use, including the above and your operating system, and also your anti-virus definitions.
Still there are no guarantees, but those are some of the basic principles.
